Slashdot's most infamous example of abuse is chronicled by the following kuro5hin post:

A post critical of slashdot's editor's moderation practices was being modded up. Slashdot's editors then punished any moderator who modded the post up by banning them from moderation for life.

Commentary

Besides being blatant censorship, it single-handedly removes slashdot from the category of "user-moderated" and places it in the realm of online injustice. This fact alone is enough to warrant the anti-slash movement.
