Facts

The editors of Slashdot have created politics section specifically for covering the US Presidential election. They've opted to use a US flag in the background, which makes sense considering the stated goal of covering the US election.

Unfortunately, using the generic term "politics" to for such a limited US centric section has caused some understandably heated discussion. The editors could have stepped in to correct their mistake, or at least to clarify, but they opted to keep quiet instead.

Commentary

Although the Slashdot editors have stated their US centric slant, they must realize that using such a generic term to describe coverage a single country's presidential election is bound to mislead the sheeple. Once again, the editors have trolled their own readers in an attempt to draw traffic, and that ever important ad revenue.
